The Theory Group at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati pursues an active research programme in fundamental physics,combining quantum field theory with phenomenological and experimental activities at LNF, CERN, and other facilities across the energy, intensity, cosmic, and gravitational frontiers.
Our key research directions include:
- Collider Physics & Precision Tests: Machine Learning, SMEFT, Higher order computations, MC event generators, MW, Higgs & top physics, and resonance searches (in MSSM or dilepton models).
- Flavor Physics & New Physics: Flavor puzzles, CP violation, and rare kaon and B-meson decays.
- Gravitational Waves & QFT: Scattering amplitude techniques applied to gravitational wave emissions in binary systems of massive compact objects.
- Light Dark Sectors & Axions: Dark matter, multi-axion architectures, and portal interactions as well as theoretical support for direct detection and fixed-target experiments.
- BSM & Fundamental Puzzles: Strong CP problem, Dark matter mechanisms, the hierarchy problem, and flavor symmetries.
The group maintains close collaborations with universities in Rome and worldwide. We regularly organize national and international workshops as well as schools, seminars, and research visits. Master’s and PhD students from the Rome area and beyond can pursue their research thesis with our members as external advisors.
